training…

its october and our next hike is planned for late March. I am trying to get the counter at left -> to work correctly, but we’ll see how it goes. My biggest concern is being out of shape. I can walk 4-7 miles without too much trouble – on the road. But get me on a trail with 45 pounds of gear – and I am getting a little nervous. So I have started a mini training regiment involving more walking when i can and even carrying extra weight just to get used to heavier walking. I am also eating fast-food much less frequently. I’ll keep you posted on how it goes.

I to am out of shape. Now I have a deadline to shoot for. It would be nice to hike all of Georgia on one attempt. I’m about 20 pounds overweight with NO stamina. I usually get winded going up a couple flights of stairs. I will start a new program next week (On Call for work is not a good time to start anything).

I’m with you – on call is not a good time. I was out with a client all day today, and now I won’t get a chance to walk the 2 miles I have been walking almost every other day. Oh well, maybe I’ll shoot for something like 3 tomorrow.

Hey man, good luck on getting some working out in before the big day – 5 months from now :)
